If you're paid hourly, your employee dashboard now shows an Effective Hourly Rate card that combines your base pay with the ShareWillow incentives you've earned. It gives you a single number that reflects what you're really making per hour — and shows exactly how that number is calculated.

Where to find it

Sign in to ShareWillow and open your home dashboard. The Effective Hourly Rate card appears at the top of the left column on desktop. It is shown to hourly employees only; if you're salaried, the card is hidden.

What the card shows

  • Your effective hourly rate — your base hourly rate plus the per-hour value of the ShareWillow incentives you've earned year-to-date.

  • The ShareWillow boost — a badge showing how much extra per hour you're earning from incentives compared to your base rate alone.

  • Year-to-date totals — the total incentive dollars you've earned so far this year and the number of hours you've worked.

  • How it's calculated — an expandable panel with the full breakdown.

How the calculation works

Click How it's calculated on the card to expand the breakdown. You'll see:

  1. Base pay year-to-date — your hours worked multiplied by your hourly rate.

  2. ShareWillow incentives — a row for each plan you're enrolled in, showing what you've earned from each.

  3. Total projected earnings year-to-date — base pay plus all incentives.

  4. Hours worked year-to-date — the hours used in the calculation.

  5. Effective hourly rate — total projected earnings divided by hours worked.

What you might see in different situations

  • You've earned incentives this year — the card shows your full effective rate, the boost badge, and your year-to-date totals.

  • You haven't earned any incentives yet — the card shows your base hourly rate. The boost badge, year-to-date column, and breakdown are hidden until you have activity.

  • You've earned incentives but haven't logged hours — your effective rate is estimated using a standard 40-hour workweek. A note in the breakdown reads: "Hours estimated at 40 hrs/week — actual rate will adjust as hours are logged." Once your hours are recorded, the rate updates to reflect them.

  • Your hourly rate hasn't been set up — the card shows a message asking you to contact your administrator so they can add your hourly rate.

Frequently asked questions

Why don't I see the card?
The card is only shown to hourly employees on the desktop dashboard. If you're salaried, or if you're on a mobile device, you won't see it.

My hourly rate is missing — what should I do?
Reach out to your administrator and ask them to set your hourly rate in your employee profile. Once it's saved, the card will appear on your dashboard.

Why is my rate calculated against 40 hours a week?
If you've earned incentives but no hours have been logged yet, ShareWillow uses a 40-hour workweek as a placeholder so you can still see an estimated effective rate. Your rate will recalculate automatically once your hours are recorded.

Where did the "Awarded YTD" chip go?
The year-to-date awards previously shown on the right side of your dashboard are now included in the Effective Hourly Rate card. Your Company, Role, and Tenure are still shown on the right.
