When to Delete a Metric

You might delete a metric when:

  • It's no longer needed

  • It was created by mistake

  • You're cleaning up unused data

How to Delete a Metric

  1. Go to Metrics in the admin sidebar

  2. Find the metric you want to delete

  3. Click the trash icon (🗑️) in the row

  4. Confirm the deletion in the dialog

  5. The metric will be permanently removed

Deletion Restrictions

Not all metrics can be deleted:

  • Unused metric — Yes, can delete (not referenced by any plan)

  • ⚠️ Metric with data — With confirmation (has historical snapshots—you'll be warned)

  • In-use by plans — No (referenced by active plans)

If the trash icon is disabled: The metric is being used by one or more plans. You must remove it from all plans before deleting.

Warning for Metrics with Data

If a metric has historical data (snapshots), you'll see a confirmation warning:

"This metric has data. Deleting it will permanently remove all historical values. This action cannot be undone."

Review carefully before confirming.

What Happens When You Delete

  • The metric is permanently removed

  • All historical data for the metric is deleted

  • Any dashboard displays referencing it will update

  • This cannot be undone
