When to Rename a Metric
You might rename a metric when:
The default name from your integration isn't clear
You want consistent naming across your metrics
The metric's purpose has evolved
How to Rename a Metric
Go to Metrics in the admin sidebar
Find the metric you want to rename
Click the pencil icon (✏️) in the row
Enter the new name in the modal
Click Save
A confirmation message will appear when successful.
Renaming Restrictions
Some metrics cannot be renamed:
✅ Custom/manual metrics — Yes
✅ Integration-synced metrics — Usually yes
❌ System metrics — No
If the pencil icon is disabled or missing, the metric cannot be renamed.
What Happens When You Rename
The new name appears everywhere the metric is referenced
Plan configurations using this metric will show the new name
Historical data is not affected
The underlying data source connection remains the same
